Chiefs fans have to move on from TMO controversy

As painful as it was, Chiefs fans will have to move on quickly from Saturday’s incident in Wellington.

Glen Jackson and Vinny Munro are public enemies one and two in Chiefs country after perhaps the most outrageous piece of refereeing seen in Super Rugby history.

It was the worst decision of the year and it may well be a season defining moment for Dave Rennie and the Chiefs.

The incident with Sam Cane allegedly knocking the ball on prior to Augustine Pulu scoring what everyone thought was the match-stealing try has already become one of the most heated topics in rugby this year.

But it isn’t often that a point of controversy seems to have all the answers and evidence to support an argument from the moment of its inception.

Replays clearly showed that Cane had the ball purposely knocked out of his grasp.

The Chiefs didn’t help themselves when slow ball movement with numbers to burn out wide handed an intercept try to Ma’a Nonu – but up until that point the Chiefs had kept the much more physical Hurricanes side in check.

Bryce Heem had his most impactful game of the season, breaking through defense with sheer strength before showing his pace when given room to run, and Anton Lienart Brown played the game of his life stepping into the role left vacant by an injured Sonny Bill Williams.

And what about Damian McKenzie – if only the youngster had have held onto the ball so close to the try line.

The call at the end of the game by referee Glen Jackson was horrendous, but the decision by Vinny Munro up in the box was unforgivable in the eyes of many.

The Chiefs didn’t lose on Saturday – to some people, they were robbed.

Lets go! (because I'm the moron that hasn't ever watched this show) Back at the stadium to cover the final regular season game of 2k17. This screenshot from tonight's DPA Forum really sums up how much the NZ Government cares about disabled people. They don't care... all they want to do is read from their papers and tout stats. At least LOOK at the person asking you questions. Listen to @freefm89 at 2.00pm NZST for #MikePulmanRadio or stream live on TuneIn Radio
